I have decided to start a pilot program to use instead of MCTs. It is a live chat box that is displayed at the bottom of the main forum index. Hopefully it will provide easier communication between members. Here is some background info on the system.

Posts in the chatbox do not count towards a user's total post count.
If you are caught with any questionable behavior in the chatbox you will be immediately banned from the chatbox. Explanation may or may not be given. Unlike with the rest of the forum minor rule breaking which is enforced based on a 3 Strike Rule does not apply to the Chatbox. It will be a One Strike Policy. Also when you are banned from the chatbox you may or may not be banned from the rest of the forum. It depends on the severity of the problem.
Also every morning all messages will be cleared in the chatbox. They may also be cleared earlier on select occasions.
If you see any inappropriate behaviour in the chatbox immediately contact a staff member(s) by PM. There is no report button in the Chatbox so it is crutical that you report inapproriate behaviour to staff immediately.
Here are a few tips and tricks to keep in mind when using the Chatbox.
Typing /me will automatically convert /me to your username. So if you have a very long username this might be quite helpful.
Typing /exit will disconnect you from the chatbox. You can also add a reason as to why you are leaving by tyoping something like: /exit I have to go eat supper.
Typing /abs (Absent) will let everyone know that you are absent but will be returning shortly. Again as with the /exit command you can include a reson like: /abs I have to go answer the phone. I will be right back.
Moderators and Administrators you can clear the messages by typing /clear. If you log on in the morning and see that the messages haven't been cleared yet go ahead and type /clear or /cls (performs the same thing as /clear)
If you right click on username in the connected username section you can view their profile or send them a PM. If you left click on their username their username will appear on your message window.

Also right now this is a pilot project. I may decide after watching how well it works to remove it. Lets see how it goes. If you have any questions post them here.
